The mission of the CARES Clinic at VCU is to provide compassionate, state-of-the-art physical therapy care to the uninsured and underinsured members of the Richmond community. Our student-run services are focused on optimizing movement and improving quality of life in patients using evidence-based care specific to each patient’s functional limitations. Free care is provided by students under the supervision of licensed physical therapists as part of a lasting educational partnership between the school and the community.
Expanding access to care and enriching quality of life for underserved individuals in the Richmond area as a leading provider of pro bono physical therapy services.
We are excited to provide physical therapy services to the patients of The Center for Healthy Hearts, CrossOver Healthcare Ministry, and Health Brigade and plan to expand our services outward to the greater Richmond community.
We provide face-to-face translation services for non-English speakers to ensure they understand every aspect of their care in order to receive the best care possible.
Our clinic is run by volunteers! Individuals interested in supporting our efforts, as a licensed physical therapist, as a student, or as a volunteer, please contact: email@example.com for more information.
Our volunteer-run physical therapy clinic relies on donations. We receive no federal funding and accept no public or private insurance. Therefore, we are solely dependent on the generosity of philanthropic supporters as we complete our mission to provide quality and accessible physical therapy services to the uninsured in the Richmond community. Needless to say, we appreciate your generous donations! To support CARES Clinic please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org.
